Scrubs: Season 1 (2001-2002)

Critic Consensus: Scrubs is a worthy spiritual successor to M*A*S*H thanks in part to its seamless blend of cheeky comedy and poignant, heartfelt moments.

Interns John "J.D." Dorian (Zach Braff), Christopher Turk (Donald Faison) and Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke) get their feet wet at a Seattle hospital, which is home to an oddball group of employees and patients. J.D. finds a reluctant mentor in the sarcastic Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) and a love interest in the spastic Elliot. Turk, meanwhile, falls for no-nonsense nurse Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes). Overseeing all of the insanity is the seemingly heartless chief of medicine, Dr. Kelso (Ken Jenkins), while a mysterious unnamed janitor (Neil Flynn) with a grudge against J.D. keeps his own tally of the goings on at the hospital.

Audience Reviews for Scrubs: Season 1

An oddball comedy set in a dysfunctional hospital, the show brought refreshing energy into the comedy genre. The use of references and music were perfect.
