Critic Consensus: The sophomore season of Derry Girls doesn't lose any of its irreverent charms thanks its predictably unpredictable romps and canny characterizations.

News & Interviews for Derry Girls: Series 2
Moving effortlessly between pitch-perfect depictions of teenage female experience, brazen sexual humour, knowing political references and shrewd observations... this mature, deft comedy is just as wonderful the second time around.
But who could feel unmoved to see the group once again turning their back on history to huddle together under a thrift-store stars and stripes that is missing 30 or so of its stars?
The show still manages to straddle the line between gleefully funny and deeply moving, effectively adding an extra dose of the latter this time around.
[I]ts second season once again shows that it's possible to balance the mundanity, naivety and near-unshakeable bravado of teenagehood with something more gently profound. As the gang themselves would say... it's a cracker.
